GREYBOX
A DJ, Producer and multi-instrumentalist based out of Bali, Greybox has supported the likes of Tame Impala, Yussef Dayes and Anderson Paak. His tracks have been featured on Soulection Radio and apartment life, gaining international support.
Bali-based Greybox is an educator, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose sound blends elements of jazz, dub, hip-hop, funk, and soul.
In 2012, while living in New York, Greybox began his musical journey on an MPC1000, which quickly evolved with the introduction of Ableton – his mastery of which led him to create Grey Audio Lab, training aspiring music producers in Indonesia.
Initially trained as a guitarist, Greybox transitioned to keyboards as his primary instrument and added the saxophone to his repertoire in 2020. His music is heavily influenced by the Detroit & New York scenes of Jazz & Boom Bap, drawing inspiration from pioneers such as J Dilla, Moodymann, and Terrace Martin.
In 2014, with a growing SoundCloud following, Greybox earned recognition from Tom Misch and was approached by Freddie Joachim, joining his label, Mellow Orange. As an entrepreneur, Greybox continues to innovate and inspire. With features on notable platforms such as Soulection & Aprtmentlife, he continues to earn the support of DJs around the world.
Beyond his residencies at venues such as Potatohead & The Lawn Canggu, Greybox keeps on growing – having honed his live performance to perform his RECENT EP--TWO FACTOR AUTHENTICATION
